Education & Home Education
Pathfinder Adventures, is an outdoor learning organisation based around survival & adventure. We have been established for nearly five years now and since then we have evolved from a small club to a growing business which offers outdoor learning experiences to children aged from 5+.

In the last five years, we have positively impacted and worked with over 3000 children, attending either our clubs, after school clubs, school visits, summer activities, Birthday parties, family days or residential experiences.

Our adventure continues as we continue to grow!

We have been working successfully with Leicestershire primary schools providing after school clubs, enrichment activities for PPA sessions, forest school & outdoor learning visits to our private woodland near Ashby de la Zouch which is set amidst a 400 acre forest.

Our aim is to challenge and inspire children to be creative and explore their local outdoor environment. This experience equips students with skills for their future, broadening their horizons giving them opportunities to experience activities that children of previous generations took for granted.

We run various different services for schools including our extremely popular survival school and our brand new Spy school which teaches children elements from STEM in a fun and imaginative way.

We offer flexible workshops, Forest Schools, adventure days/ residential trips as well as running term time after school clubs.

Key Stage 1 and 2 Activities

Our schools program is quite unique, as we like to put a twist on outdoor education that keeps the children interested, motivated and grasps their imagination.
We currently have three school programs operational that have been recently introduced with great success. They are listed below:

Survival School
One of our original Bear Grylls style clubs, this Survival School teaches the children some life skills that could one day save their life or someone else!

Bushcraft/Survival -based activities; including Shelter building, fire-lighting, Camp-fire cooking, tracking and navigation, water filtration, foraging, gutting and prepping fish for cooking, edible insects and more)

Special Operations Academy

This is our spy school that incorporates multiple areas of the curriculum but focuses on STEM (Science, technology, engineering and maths) activities, as well as physical education training with drill, agility and tactical training in a fun and safe indoor or outdoor learning environment.

At the SOA the children learn various aspects of spy training including code breaking and cryptography, DNA testing, finger printing, lock picking, laser grid, mine field, agility course, communications, spy gadgets including parabolic microphone, hidden cameras, listening devices, drones, tactical and mission training

Active Nerf
We have combined fitness and fun with our new sport Active Nerf.

Yes, you have guessed it, we are combining one game that children love to play that will benefit their health and improve their fitness overall with this high intensity interval training workout during Nerf games.

With the possibly off burning nearly 300 calories an hour, I can't think of a better way to keep fit.

All the above promote team-building and Problem-solving activities – perfect for helping year groups and teachers get to know each other better, building confidence and improving co-operation and understanding.

Forest Schools

Learning Outside the Classroom develops an understanding of the social, economic and environmental impact of our natural surroundings in children.

Our expert teaching combined with a natural environment are all that’s needed to bring nature to life and for children to learn valuable life skills and increase self esteem.

Engaging with mini-beast hunts, shelter building, fire lighting, bushcraft skills and more, Young Pathfinders sessions can be delivered in your own surroundings or at our woodland location amidst a 400 acre forest.

They are packed with activities to bring children of all ages and abilities together, appreciating the sustainable role the natural environment in our lives in the most hands-on way possible.

We are accessible all year round to schools, community groups and individual parties.
